Stay Safe When You Travel

When traveling, one has to be worried about more than just whether or not their plane is on time, or if their luggage will make it to the right destination, one also has to be conscious of their health, especially when traveling.

Before leaving for your trip, make sure to learn about your destination (if you haven't been there before). Research the destination, the weather, and the food. If you are going to be away for an extended period of time, make sure to visit your doctor for a check up and get your shots if you need them.

When preparing for your trip, make sure you pack smart. This means, making sure to get your passport and itinerary photocopied. Also, make sure to pack all your necessary medications (make sure to pack your prescription medication in your carry-on bag). If traveling to a foreign country, check with the U.S. Embassy to make sure your prescriptions are allowed. Make sure to travel precautionary medications as well, such as sunscreen, decongestants, antacid, etc.

While you are on your trip, make sure to pay attention to your health. When on a trip, its best to try and eat like you usually do when at home (as best as possible). Also, make sure to obey any laws and regulations in the area that you are visiting. And make sure to have fun!

Thank The Economy For a Travel-less Thanksgiving

Yesterday, the Boston Globe ran an article stating that travel over the Thanksgiving holiday were projected to decrease for the first time since 2002. The Automotive Association of America stated that 41 million Americans will travel more than fifty miles for Thanksgiving, this is down by six hundred thousand travelers from last year. This continues to be a pattern since holiday travel for this year has been declining.

Sometimes, when there are not a lot of people traveling it is the perfect opportunity to travel. Other times it is just the opposite. Sometimes airlines will increase the price so they can make up for the unsold seats, other times, airlines will discount seats in order to fill the plan.If you plan on traveling over the holidays, hopefully you have planned ahead. If you haven't you might get lucky and be able to get a good last minuet deal, but don't count on it. When it comes to traveling the best thing to do is always plan ahead and to do your research.
